Miriam Darlington
AUTHOR, TEACHER & NATURE GUIDE
Miriam Darlington’s first collection of poetry, Windfall, was published by Oversteps Books in 2008. In 2012, Otter Country, In Search of the Wild Otter, a creative non-fiction nature memoir came out with Granta. In 2018, she published a travel book all about owls, Owl Sense with Guardian Faber. This creative non-fiction study of the wild owl and its mythology was a BBC Radio Book of the Week and Sunday Times bestseller.
Miriam tutors for the Arvon Foundation, and writes freelance for The Guardian and Resurgence-Ecologist magazine as well as her regular column, the Nature Notebook, at The Times. She lives in Devon with a daughter and a dog, and teaches Creative Writing at Plymouth University.
